A C6/C7 spinal cord injury didn’t end Tarek Salem’s story — it began his most important chapter. He experienced firsthand the gap between what technology could do and what people with disabilities actually needed. That gap became his life’s work.

First Innovation
What began as a personal necessity became the beginning of my journey in assistive technology. I built my first custom device to enable me to use a keyboard independently, and the innovation was later registered in Germany.
